2024: A Year of Loss, Love, Growth, and Gratitude

This year has been one of the most profound of my life—a year of love, growth, heartbreak, and reflection.

Some years pass quietly, and others shape you in ways you never saw coming. For me, 2024 was life-changing—a year of love, loss, family, and transformation.

This year reminded me of the incredible gift of family. Watching my children and grandchildren grow, thrive, and live their lives has been one of the greatest blessings.

They are my pride and joy, a constant source of inspiration, laughter, and love. Family isn’t just where life begins—it’s where I find my deepest sense of purpose.

This year also brought unimaginable loss. I said goodbye to my best friend, Nelly a soul who walked beside me through so many chapters of my life. Losing Nelly left a void that words can’t fully express. The memories we shared, the laughter, the love—it all remains, etched in my heart forever.

Grief is an ever-changing journey, but I hold on to the comfort of knowing Nelly’s spirit is still with me in so many ways.

Amid the heartache, there was also incredible light.

Annette, my best friend and partner, became my wife. She gave me a moment I will never forget.

Her proposal wasn’t just a question—it was a leap of faith, a reflection of the unbreakable bond we’ve built over the years.

What followed was beyond anything I could have imagined. Waking up to a wedding, surrounded by those I love most, was a moment of pure magic.

To feel that level of love, planning, and thoughtfulness—it’s something I’ll carry with me forever. Annette, you’ve made my world brighter in every way, and I’m so honored to be your wife.

Professionally, this year was about more than accomplishments—it was about impact. Whether working on projects, mentoring others, or championing inclusivity, every step felt like a chance to leave something meaningful behind. I’ve grown so much, not just as a professional but as a person.

As I reflect on all of this, my heart is full. I’m grateful for my family, friends for the love that surrounds me, and for the opportunities to grow.

2024 was a year of transformation, and I’m walking into 2025 with open arms, ready for whatever comes next.

Here’s to love, family, friends and the endless possibilities

Inner Child

Healing your inner child isn’t about erasing the past — it’s about transforming it with love and compassion

This reflection captures a profound truth about the echoes of childhood and their influence on our adult selves. The journey of healing the inner child is deeply transformative, as it invites us to revisit the tender, vulnerable parts of ourselves that we may have silenced to survive.

By acknowledging these wounds, we create an opportunity for understanding and growth. Asking questions like, “What do you need?” and “How can I help you feel safe?” is a powerful way to reconnect with the inner child and provide them with the nurturing they may have lacked. This practice fosters self-compassion and allows us to rewrite the narratives that no longer serve us, replacing fear and pain with love and acceptance.

When we integrate these vulnerable parts of ourselves into the wiser, grounded aspects of who we are, we reclaim our wholeness. It’s in this integration that we find the strength to live authentically, no longer bound by the protective patterns of the past. Instead, we can move forward with greater self-awareness, resilience, and a deeper connection to our true selves.

One Person Can Make All the Difference

This year marks the end of an era as my incredible manager,

Sandy retires.

While I’m happy for her and the exciting new chapter she’s about to begin, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of sadness as we say goodbye.

I’ve been with the company for 30 years but over the past 11 years, Sandy has been more than a manager to me—she’s been a mentor, a cheerleader, and a source of unwavering guidance. Her confidence in me helped me grow professionally in ways I never imagined possible. She pushed me to trust my abilities and offered support that made a real difference in my career and my life.

Working virtually, I didn’t expect to see her before her retirement, but she made sure to have one last virtual meeting with me. This moment is a testament to the kind of person she is—thoughtful, genuine, and dedicated to those she works with.

Sandy, I hope your retirement is filled with all the joy, relaxation, and adventures you’ve dreamed of. You’ve left an indelible mark not just on this company, but on me personally. I will miss you terribly, but I am so grateful for the time we had together.

Thank you for believing in me, for guiding me, and for making the last 11 years truly amazing. Enjoy every moment of your well-earned retirement—you deserve it!

Finding Great Love

True love doesn’t always arrive when you expect it, but when it does, it transforms you. Great love isn’t about perfection—it’s about connection. It’s about being seen, valued, and accepted for who you truly are.

Great communication is the bridge that keeps this connection strong. It’s the honesty in difficult moments, the laughter in joyous ones, and the courage to speak your heart without fear. It’s not always about agreeing, but always about understanding.

A soulmate is more than just a romantic partner; they are your safe space, your biggest supporter, and the one who mirrors the best version of yourself. They remind you of your worth on days you forget and challenge you to grow in ways you never imagined.

Finding this kind of love means opening your heart, showing vulnerability, and giving yourself permission to be fully seen. When you do, the right person will recognize your soul as the one they’ve been searching for, too.

Love like this changes everything. It brings peace, joy, and an unwavering belief that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. If you’ve found it, cherish it. And if you’re still searching, know that love often finds us when we least expect it, but when we need it most.

The Magic Hour

There's something profoundly beautiful about the magic hour, that fleeting time just after sunrise or before sunset when the world feels softer, colors richer, and time slower. It's a moment where shadows stretch long, and everything is bathed in a golden glow that feels almost otherworldly.

For me, the magic hour is more than just a beautiful time of day—it's a reminder to pause and appreciate the transitions in life. Just like the sun rises and sets, we have moments of change, of light breaking through darkness, or quiet calm before the day ends.

It's a time to reflect, breathe deeply, and feel connected to the world around us. Whether it's stepping outside to witness the light, or taking a moment to feel grateful for life's transitions, the magic hour is always there to remind us of beauty, peace, and the endless cycles of renewal.

Do you have a favorite time of day that feels magical to you? What does it bring to mind?
